SMARTments student means cleverly furnished apartments that are perfectly suited for students and young trainees/apprentices in Cologne. Our Lilli Jahn Haus is situated in Markt Strasse near the university; it is well connected to public transport. Each apartment is rented covering all utilities as well. Above all, however, we score highly with our welcoming and open-minded community!

Our Lilli Jahn Haus in Markt Strasse, Cologne-Raderberg, has a lot to offer from its excellent location point of view: The Technical University of Cologne, for example, is merely five minutes away by bike - the University, the Rheinische Fachhochschule / University of Applied Sciences or the University Clinic are no more than 15 minutes away. On foot, you are just as quickly in the popular Südstadt with its attractive restaurants and likeable bars away from the crowds of tourists. Only 10 minutes on foot will take you to the extensive Vorgebirgspark (foothills park), your nearest "recreational space" for relaxing, barbecuing or sunbathing. You will find a large selection of supermarkets and a fitness studio right on your doorstep, and the bus and tram stops are close by.

What is the 'Einwohnermeldeamt' and why do I have to register there?

Every new resident must register at the local registration office. To do this, you will need a rent confirmation from your Landlord (Austria: "Meldezettel"(registration form) which we will give you upon handover of your apartment. In Germany you have maximum 14 days (varying from city to city) and in Austria three days to complete the re-registration.

Are there bicycle parking places?

We offer accommodation not only for you personally, but also for your bike, incidentally almost always roofed.

Is there a minimum rental period?

In Germany the minimum rental period is 6 months, in Austria 12 months. We regret that we cannot offer rental contracts with a term of less than 6 months.
