Our Albrecht Mendelssohn Bartholdy Haus is located in the centre of the city, next to the former railway post office at Hühnerposten - today the seat of the Central Library of the Hamburg Public Books Halls. You can reach the University of Applied Sciences (HAW), HafenCity University or Kühne Logistics University in less than 10 minutes by bike. To the Grindelviertel, where the university has its main campus, it only takes a few minutes longer. The colourful and cosmopolitan St. Georg quarter with a vibrant restaurant scene on Lange Reihe can be reached on foot in 10 minutes, as can the shopping mile around Mönckeberg Strasse. If you want to chill outdoors and on the water, you're spoilt for choice: in 10 minutes you can reach the hotspots of HafenCity by bike to enjoy the unique port panorama on the river Elbe - or the green Alster meadows, where you have sailing enthusiasts in view. On weekends, Hamburg Transport takes you in 15 minutes around the clock to the nightlife on St. Pauli and in the "Schanzenviertel" quarter - and back home as well!

Are there basements or storage rooms?

In some properties this is offered. Ask your Operations Manager if your location has any such options.

Which documents do I have to submit?

A valid copy of your identity card/passport/VISA, enrolment certificate/training certificate/school certificate/internship contract. In individual cases, you must provide us with a current registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung) not older than 14 days.

May I remove furniture from the apartment or bring along my own furniture?

You are welcome to bring your own furniture. However, the existing furniture must not be removed.
