The Herbert Weichmann Haus in Hamburg's Münzviertel is located near the first SMARTments student, the Albrecht Mendelssohn Bartholdy Haus, which opened in 2012. A spacious residential complex has been built around a green inner courtyard on a former school site, which also stands out for its central location: the main railway station is only a few minutes away. The city centre with famous shopping miles such as Mönckebergstrasse or Jungfernstieg is also within walking distance. The same goes for numerous cultural institutions and museums as well as the vibrant and trendy St. Georg quarter with its many restaurants and bars. The University of Applied Sciences (HAW), HafenCity University and Kühne Logistics University are less than 10 minutes away by bike. In fifteen minutes you are at the main campus of the University in the Grindelviertel. You can get to HafenCity and the Alster meadows just as quickly to enjoy the maritime side of the Hanseatic city - or take the S-Bahn to Hamburg's nightlife around the Reeperbahn and the "Schanzenviertel".

What do I need to bring along when I move in?

The apartment is completely furnished. Therefore you should only bring crockery, cutlery, plates, cups, pots, bed linen, pillows, blankets and towels as well as your personal “feel-good” items.

What common areas are there?

This varies depending on the location of the property. We offer e.g. (roof) terraces, study rooms, lounge areas, communal kitchens, washing and drying rooms, etc.

Are there basements or storage rooms?

In some properties this is offered. Ask your Operations Manager if your location has any such options.
