Cleverly furnished apartments, tailor-made for the needs of young trainees and students in Berlin. The David Friedländer Haus is located in Kaiserin Augusta Allee near the university and is well connected to public transport. Everything is designed to be as uncomplicated and as friendly to the residents as possible. The apartments are let including all additional costs. Absolutely priceless, however, is the friendly community spirit that typifies SMARTments students.

Our David Friedländer Haus is located in Kaiserin Augusta Allee, directly at the river Spree. Not surprisingly, the Water Front apartments are particularly popular! Like the entire ‘SMARTis’ Community, The urban Moabit quarter is truly colourful and international; fortunately, the numerous shops and restaurants, for example, in Gotzkowsky Strasse and Turm Strasse, still offer moderate prices by Berlin standards. You can reach the Technical University by bike in 5 minutes, the city centre and Humboldt University in 20 minutes. Some of the most beautiful green spaces in the capital are also within easy reach: you cycle 10 minutes to the Tiergarten park and 15 minutes to the Plötzensee lakeside lido. If you prefer to walk into the green, you can chill out in Otto Park or the Kleiner Tiergarten – and, of course, right in front of the house, on the banks of the river Spree!

Are pets allowed?

Regrettably, pets are not allowed.Considering the entire community of the SMARTments residents, the responsibility of the Landlord and an efficient management of the property, the keeping of pets is prohibited. This also takes into account the close alignment of the apartments within the building and the use of the community rooms and areas provided the SMARTis. Also due respect has to be shown for the different cultural and religious backgrounds of the residents.

What do I need to bring along when I move in?

The apartment is completely furnished. Therefore you should only bring crockery, cutlery, plates, cups, pots, bed linen, pillows, blankets and towels as well as your personal “feel-good” items.

What common areas are there?

This varies depending on the location of the property. We offer e.g. (roof) terraces, study rooms, lounge areas, communal kitchens, washing and drying rooms, etc.
